![]() Several companies offer replacement coil springs specifically designed for lowering cars. An air-powered cutoff wheel, hacksaw, or chop saw are the best tools for cutting springs. In addition, front springs should be left long enough so they won't shift or slip out of the spring pockets when the suspension is at full droop (completely unloaded). If you're going to cut coils, we suggest using new (or relatively new) springs and cutting them in small increments (1/4-coil at a time) on the open, or "wild," end. We should also note that you can't cut coils that are tapered on both ends (like the rear springs on '67-and-later A-bodies, as well as some other Chevys). Instead, we recommend it for making minor ride height adjustments (an inch or less). In general, we aren't big proponents of coil cutting as a primary means of significantly altering a car's height. Cutting coils typically increases the likelihood of bottoming out either the suspension or the chassis (like when your crossmember hits the pavement), and that potential is exaggerated with older coils that are already suffering from fatigue. This not only lowers the car, it also alters the spring rate (the amount of force required to deflect the spring) slightly. ![]() It basically entails removing the coil springs and cutting off a coil or so, making the springs shorter. ![]() This is probably the most time-honored method for lowering the front (and sometimes rear) of a Chevy, but that doesn't automatically make it the best.

![]() For example, a cosmetics company might create a chatbot that engages users with set questions about their makeup preferences, then recommends products and offers that match their responses. In short, it operates like a document retrieval system, based on keywords. The simplest form of a chatbot system tackles such tasks by parsing customer input, then scanning its database for articles related to certain words and phrases. But that’s not something as common as ‘reset my password.’ Agents’ time is precious, so save them for the complex stuff … Let the chatbot take care of the simpler jobs,” said linguist and Lead User Researcher at Salesforce, Greg Bennett. “Out of the pool of problems your customers have, there are some that are best suited for a talk with a human. While today’s chatbots still can’t handle all customer queries, they can respond to frequently asked questions or perform straightforward tasks. Over the years, developers have incorporated more sophisticated techniques to enable chatbots to better understand people’s questions and provide more useful responses. SmarterChild was a rudimentary digital assistant, retrieving requested information like movie showtimes and weather reports. ![]() Later chatbot models included SmarterChild, offered as part of the desktop version of AOL Instant Messenger in the early 2000s. ![]() Using keywords and pattern matching, ELIZA responded to a user’s typed questions with simple open-ended replies, based on a script. One of the earliest examples of a chatbot was a program called ELIZA, built by Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor Joseph Weizenbaum in the mid-1960s to simulate a psychotherapist. With the potential for delivering instant responses around the clock, chatbots can also free up customer support teams to apply their emotional intelligence to more complex queries. More importantly, it can influence a customer relationship by responding to requests faster while meeting expectations. Whether through typing or talking, a chatbot can connect with a customer. So, in addition to having a conversation with a person (such as a sales rep or a support agent, for instance), people can interact with software that helps find answers fast. These include:Ĭhatbots that communicate via smart speakersĬhatbots that function on smart home devicesĬhatbots that function via popular chat and messaging platforms like SMS, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, and LINE Today, such programs can be customised and used in a variety of ways. Technically speaking, a chatbot (derived from “chat robot”) is a computer program that simulates human conversation, either via voice or text communication. At the same time, all-purpose virtual assistants, such as Amazon’s Alexa, Apple’s Siri, and Google Assistant, are fast becoming the preferred interfaces for consumers to engage with brands across every industry.īut what’s behind the chatbot’s rapid rise in popularity? Are they really effective when it comes to delivering customer service support - and what impact do they have on the customer experience? Below, we explore what businesses need to know about chatbots and what they can do to take advantage of this technology. They help workers set meetings and reminders, and ask simple questions without stopping what they’re doing, to name just a few use cases. In the workplace, businesses use chatbots to boost productivity and efficiency in a range of ways. A recent study found that 53% of service organisations expect to use chatbots within 18 months - a 136% growth rate that foreshadows a big role for the technology in the near future. ![]() In fact, Gartner predicted that the average person would have more conversations with chatbots than with their spouse.ĭriven by the promise of intelligent round-the-clock digital support, more companies are using them to engage with customers alongside the now classic channels of phone, email, and social media. Paying Intuit more money is the only option I was told that my 2020 non-subscription license was converted to a 2022 subscription. Intuit ONLY offers subscription-based desktop now - as I said, I get that now, but that was not the case in 2020Ģ. The best I can tell from the multiple mixed messages I have gotten from support over the various times that I have called are:ġ. Eventually, that date came and now I am locked out. From that time until a few days ago, I continued to get prompted inside QuickBooks about a subscription that was going to expire because there was no billing information on file. ![]() Nonetheless, I found it curious so I called to find out what happened and confirm that what I had was a non-subscription version and that I would not be charged anything (or required to pay in the future unless I did want to upgrade or convert to a subscription). I didn't do anything to trigger that as I only open QuickBooks every ~ 2 weeks, and this came while I had not been in it for at least a week. In May of this year, I mysteriously received an email from Intuit thanking me for my order, with line items about subscription, data protect, support and data recovery. I understand that Intuit QuickBooks desktop now REQUIRES a subscription for 2022, however that was absolutely not the case when I purchased the 2020 version. I believe this is supposed to be 3 years. I have been comfortable knowing that at some point, I will no longer have access to software updates and/or technical support. ![]() ![]() This was the 3rd version of QuickBooks desktop that I purchased over the years, none of which were subscription-based. I purchased QuickBooks Desktop Pro Standard 2020 on Amazon in May 2020. I am posting my case here in hopes that maybe someone can help - I have had no success with phone support and only grown more and more frustrated. Apotatosaurus is a good addition to Grass Knuckles' root deck with Starch-Lord, who not only gives it an additional +1 /+1 at the start of every turn but also when it is played.Fortunately, Apotatosaurus goes well with any Mega-Grow hero due to Mega-Grow being the main class of card draw.Įach Mega-Grow hero has their own way of using Apotatosaurus: Just like any Dino-Roar card, Apotatosaurus is best used in decks with plenty of card draw. The root Conjured can also be something threatening, such as Soul Patch, Veloci-Radish Hunter, or even another Apotatosaurus, but isn't to be relied upon. Apotatosaurus' value comes from its Untrickable trait, meaning that it cannot be stopped by tricks such as Rocket Science or Exploding Fruitcake, and must be dealt with directly. It has average stats for its cost (including the boost from its "When played" ability), but the fact still stands that these stats are very high. Update history Update 1.24.6 Īpotatosaurus is an extremely powerful plant. Its name is a portmanteau of " Apatosaurus," the dinosaur it is based on and "potato," the plant it is based on. But for now, all signs point to another successful launch for this mobile gaming mainstay from the user acquisition standpoint. It is based on the potato ( Solanum tuberosum), the starchy, tuberous root portion crop of a perennial nightshade and the Apatosaurus, a genus of sauropod dinosaurs that lived in North America during the Late Jurassic period. Zombies, so it will be important to revisit how users are (hopefully) staying engaged and monetizing after a month, in three months, and so on. These are early days for Electronic Arts and PopCap with this latest Plants vs. Another title with similar (yet far more hardcore) gameplay mechanics, Activision Blizzard's Hearthstone, saw average daily usage of 42 minutes for the past seven days, according to our iOS usage data for the United States. iOS users in the past week has averaged 19 minutes, for comparison. Total daily usage of Clash Royale among U.S. As you can see on the chart below, that exceeds the approximately 26 minutes players of Clash Royale were spending in that app each day, on average, during its first week of availability in March of this year. Sensor Tower usage data shows that, in its first seven days of wide release, the average daily usage for Plants vs. Zombies Heroes soft-launched in spring 2016 prior to its global launch last week, and Electronic Arts, along with developer PopCap Games, clearly used that time to refine its game design to ensure high user engagement-at least out of the gate. Keep reading to see how it compares to its chief rival, Supercell's Clash Royale, in terms of daily usage. ![]() Zombies Heroes, launched worldwide a week ago on October 18, has already exceeded five million downloads across the iOS App Store and Google Play, and is adding nearly one million new users daily. Neither did Viñoly’s architectural firm, nor one of the developers, Macklowe Properties. ![]() The condo board’s lawyer, Herrick Feinstein partner Jonathan Adelsberg, did not immediately respond to Gawker’s request for comment. “This includes demanding modifications to the building and its operations that, while preferred by the HOA, are clearly not the responsibility of Sponsor.” “Certain vocal residents misunderstand Sponsor’s obligations,” he wrote. He argued the sponsor had met all their contractual commitments, but that the homeowner’s association had delayed repairs. “It is Manhattan’s premier residence, which has performed remarkably well.” Both of these incidents spawned nicknames: “Walkie Scorchie” for the London building after it “melted parts of cars parked in a street below and started a small fire outside a shop ” and “the Death Ray hotel” for the Vegas resort, whose glass walls acted as “a giant magnifying glass sending a hot ray onto the pool area.” But the engineering problems of 432 Park Ave., Whitmore noted, had nothing to do with Viñoly).Ī spokesman for 432 Park had a different view of things: “432 Park delivers the finest level of service, world-class amenities and state-of-the-art technology and is an iconic addition to the New York skyline,” he told Gawker in an email. ” She was referring to the Vdara Hotel in Las Vegas and the Walkie Talkie building in London, two Viñoly-designed structures that have set things on fire, or shot rays of heat at nearby objects. (Whitmore noted that the architect, Rafael Viñoly, had a complicated track record: “He’s built multiple buildings that have burned things across the street. But if I lived in a building that flooded over three times and exploded, I would sue too.” “The people in the units are all so rich, it’s hard to feel bad for multibillionaires. ![]() “I knew there was flooding, but I didn’t know there were explosions happening,” she said. Louisa Whitmore, a Canadian TikToker who earned a following for starting a hate page specifically dedicated to the building, told Gawker even she had been surprised by the details of the lawsuit. Throwing out the trash in the markedly tall garbage chute, one resident claimed, “sounds like a bomb.” And in June, the residents experienced their second “electrical explosion” in three years. The plumbing is also allegedly bad - several floods and leaks have soaked 35 of the apartments and common areas, wreaking “millions in damages,” and again, damaging some elevators. The building’s extreme height and modelesque slenderness makes it sashay in the breeze, which “on several occasions” messed up its actual elevators, the complaint claims, leaving residents trapped “for hours.” The constant motion also produced severe “sound and vibration issues,” which even Richard Resseler, founder of one of its developers, the CIM Group, called “intolerable.” Other buyers included an heir to the Jose Cuervo fortune, a couple of oil and gas executives, and J-Lo and A-Rod, before their breakup and the rise of Bennifer II.īut as it turns out, manifesting Roald Dahl’s “ Great Glass Elevator” in real life poses some challenges for physics. This largely bore out: Saudi retailer Fawaz Alhokair bought the 96th floor penthouse for $88 million in 2016. The luxury condo, then projected to sell all of its units out for a total of $3.1 billion, pitched itself as the apex of ugly style to celebrities, corporate executives, and offshore oligarchs. The case, filed in New York State Supreme Court on Thursday, accuses its developers of enabling “one of the worst examples of sponsor malfeasance in the development of a luxury condominium in the history of New York City.” The 1,400-foot Juul was erected in 2015, and became a kind of shorthand for Manhattan real estate excess. ![]() The condo board members at 432 Park Avenue - the social x-ray of a building on Manhattan’s “Billionaire’s Row” and one of the most expensive residential addresses in the world - have sued its developers for $125 million in damages, alleging some 1,500 design defects that include electrical “explosions,” rampant flooding, and an “intolerable” noise produced by the gargantuan building literally swaying in the wind. In a high-stakes circumstance, it's simple to change your motivations on the fly - perhaps to save face, for example. The second stage is to maintain your concentration on what you truly desire. As a result, you begin this journey by altering your mindset and committing to the 7 principles. Remember that you are the only person you can directly manage in each conversation as the first step to attaining what you really desire. There are three phases to accomplishing this. "How to Stay Focused on What You Really Want" is the subtitle of this chapter. So, how are we going to get there? With the Crucial Conversations' seven principles. In that case, we each have our own "Personal Pool of Meaning." Suppose you and I begin a conversation with differing perspectives, sentiments, and theories about the subject at hand. Our ability to manage these talks deftly affects our professions, homes, and even our emotional well-being.Ĭonsider what the writers refer to as "The Fool's Choice," in which we feel that the only option is speaking the truth or maintaining a buddy. The agent said you’re eligible for Fastbreak program benefits only if you book directly with Budget (and not with a third-party booking system like Costco or Priceline).
